Intranet Technology

Utilizing Microsoft SharePoint technology allows SISU to design and maintain our own unique Intranet where users can securely access:

  • Internal news and events
  • User contact lists and discussion groups
  • Training information
  • In / Out board and contact information for all SISU staff
  • Forms
  • Policies
  • Knowledge bases

Additionally, SISU works with its members on the development of their own Intranets. By leveraging SharePoint technology, our members can disseminate information to their employees through secure employee directories, schedules, publications and online reference materials. SharePoint electronically manages policies and procedures and includes a robust search engine used to quickly locate information, thereby further increasing efficiency and productivity.

E-mail and Scheduling

SISU Medical Systems maintains a centralized e-mail and scheduling server for all members. All incoming e-mail flows through a dedicated spam filter and virus checker. SISU's spam and virus filtering capabilities can be available to your organization even if you choose to have a separate e-mail server on-site at your facility.

  • Microsoft Windows Exchange Server® and Microsoft Outlook® provide the underlying technology for our integrated e-mail and scheduling system. This technology is maintained by SISU information systems staff as part of the standard operations budget.

Internet

As part of SISU's standard operations budget, you receive Internet access via a dedicated, high-speed 25 Mb circuit. A tier system, designed and maintained by your site's Security Officer, and applied in user profile creation, regulates Internet access and usage. Your employees' security level is built into their unique single network logon code, eliminating the need for one user to have multiple user logons and passwords.
