Job Summary:
- In conjunction with the CEO provide input on operational and strategic opportunities as they arise; provide strategic recommendation to the CEO based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis.
- Work with the CEO on the strategic vision and mission of the organization as well as assisting in the development and negotiation of contracts.
- Assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organization's mission and help execute staff succession growth plans.
- Assess the benefits of all prospective contracts and advise the Executive Team on design and implementation matters.
- Participate in developing new business through identifying new funding opportunities and drafting prospective programmatic budgets as well as determining the cost effectiveness of the prospective new services.
- Oversee financial policies and procedures for the accurate and consistent recording and reporting of all financial matters including budgeting, financial reporting, grant analysis, capital funds tracking, project and operational performance analysis and periodic reports to the Board of Directors.
- Over see the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, report to funding agencies, development and monitoring of contract/grant budgets.
- Ensure adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all purchases may pass independent and governmental audit.
- Monitor progress and present operational metrics both internally and externally.
- Ensure the finance staff maintains financial record system in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Manage cash flow and forecasting; direct all financial, project-based, and departmental accounting.
- Coordinate all audit activities and ensure the necessary controls are in place.
- Participate in the ongoing strategic planning process as an integral member of the Executive Team.
- Coordinate and participate in the work of the board finance committee around issues, trends, and changes in the operating model and operational delivery.
- Ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organization's needs.
- Oversee business insurance plans.
- Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets in accordance with federal regulations.
- Provide cost information to the Sales group for outgoing bids.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
- Completion of a master's degree.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) desired.
- Eight years of management experience.
- Ten years of accounting/finance experience.
- Experience in the finance area of a non-profit organization desired.
- Understanding of healthcare finance experience preferred.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills.
