SISU ranks No. 16 in Top 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare

(Duluth, MN) November 4, 2008 - SISU Medical Solutions proudly announces its ranking as No. 16 in Modern Healthcare's Top 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare.

"A company can be successful in many ways. SISU is successful because of the extraordinary people who've worked together to create the culture we have here," says Dianne Mandernach, CEO. "There is so much value in creating a work environment that people are proud to be a part of each and every day, and that's what we strive to do."

More than 230 healthcare organizations nationwide participated in the Top 100 program. SISU is among only three organizations in Minnesota to have made the list. In category rankings, SISU earned a Top 10 status, coming in No. 5 in the Top 10 Healthcare Suppliers category.

Modern Healthcare partnered with Best Companies Group, a PA-based firm that administers "best places to work" programs nationwide. The program was conducted to recognize outstanding employers in the healthcare industry on a national level.

"To be ranked nationally is a testament to our company, staff, and the services we provide. It speaks to the value of our staff as well as their contributions to SISU. SISU is more than just a place to work-it's a place to grow and learn and make a difference," Mandernach said.

The program collected information from both the employer and employees and was open to all companies (providers, suppliers, payers, associations, etc.) with at least 25 employees. Employers completed a survey detailing company policies, practices, benefits and demographics. Employees were asked an in-depth set of questions that resulted in an analysis of eight core areas: leadership and planning, culture and communications, role satisfaction, working environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits and overall satisfaction.

Jodi Nelson, Director, Human Resources, for SISU cited excellent benefits, flexibility, and open door policies as just a few of the many areas where she believes SISU excels. "Investing in our employees benefits everyone because our employees are our strongest asset. They understand the value of supporting our members, so we want to make sure they feel supported too."

Program sponsor, Quint Studer, Founder and chief and executive officer, Studer Group, had this to say about the Top 100: "Research clearly shows that engaged employees and physicians produce superior organizational outcomes, so it's no wonder that this list of recipients also features some of the highest-performing organizations in clinical, services, and operational results. Successful leaders know that the key to attaining excellence is to focus first on the employees...Creating a best place to work makes employees better, makes healthcare better-thus making the community better."

The Top 100 finalists were honored at an awards ceremony in Chicago on October 29, 2008.
